Excerpt from tonight’s brief, noisy sound design session with the Bastl Wave Bard and Eurorack.

Third day in a row with the Bastl Wave Bard. This time I loaded samples from my modular synth and paired it with the Volca Drum.

Here’s an excerpt from my second experiment with the Bastl Wave Bard, this time without any external effects. I loaded it with tabla, sounds from the 7-Up Cool Spot game on Sega Genesis, and a few of the synth samples that I used in yesterday’s video.

This afternoon I spent some time diving deeper into the Digitone’s FM synth engines and ended up with some sounds that were new territory for me.

Using the Arcologies script on norns to sequence the Digitone. I think it turned out nicely.

The Digitone is doing most of what you hear in this clip. The Octatrack is playing a slowed, filtered 1-bar loop from a field recording I took at Lake Superior last month. It’s subtle, but I love how a couple of rocks moved by the waves click in time with the rhythm each loop around.
