The Wings of Fire graphic novel art is unforgivably fuck-ugly and I'm tired of people acting like it's not. They managed to make graphic novels, starring dragons, for a series I already love... and it's so hideous I will never purchase a single one.

Working on a big piece that doubles as the next page of my comic and just realized I need to design a writing script for my setting before I can finish it. Just a direct paintover of English at this point, but still. Whoops.

This is a big part of why I founded the animal photo reference repository: because AI slop has made finding good, real references harder while promising using them doesn’t matter… I hope to see more efforts exist to curate and restore accurate references for all sorts of subjects and places.
