On a related note I'm going to add that this is part of why I've been so critical of the way a lot of modern fighting games pick DLC characters. The "boring safe picks" people complain about are that way because a lot of fans actually like them. Now we get staple characters held off until late game.

In all seriousness, I would genuinely like to know what changed. Barely 2 years ago everyone and their mom was demanding Tifa in Tekken. Is it specifically that they wanted her in Tekken and not SF? Is it SF's slow update cycle causing friction? Different groups of fans?
