With Mum & Dad (hopefully) coming out of hospital soon, both with zimmer frames I am preparing myself for a period of slightly more hands on caring. Luckily we live close and are moving slightly closer in a few weeks. What do you know now that you wish you had known in the beginning? 1/2 #carerLife

Dad was moved to the discharge area in hospital yesterday morning before 10am but challenges with transport meant that he was there until 3:30pm. He is not a very patient man and so my phone was busy will calls from him.

As an Access to Work Grant holder, I need to be able to continue to use the existing online claim service so that I can claim monies from my grant in an efficient and effective way. If the existing service has been iterated on, I don't understand why the changed service is a private Beta?

Mum’s hospital is trying really hard with her food, she has graduated from the Sara Stedy today. Dad still wants to be at home but seems to be more focused on Mum. Apparently we are able to go in on Saturday. #carerLife

This is really difficult. Mum is in one hospital, Dad in another. Dad “doesn’t know why he is there” Mum is struggling with the food due to a pre-existing condition. None of this would be too much of an issue except we are at home in the early throes of Covid. #carerLife

We are in limbo. Mum is still on the ward in Dorchester waiting for patient transfer due at 12:00 but could be any time as short staffed. Dad is not at all patient at the best of times. If we go to Dorch she is likely to be on her way to Bridport, if we go to Bridport etc etc

Mum is moving to a community hospital today and so we will be driving the coast road. It is a nice day for it too #carersLife #Dorset

Dad's car key which was around his neck on a lanyard is not here and he is searching. We have a key so can get where we need to go but it is worrying him. I reckon he took it off when kissing mum goodbye yesterday, we'll find out later. He is currently eating a yogurt and scanning the shelves, again

Mum is in hospital and is struggling with the menus. She has Sjogrens Disease so very little saliva, she prefers things which are not very spicy. Any ideas for easy things to take in with protein. So far I have poached salmon TIA
