“But what on earth is whiteness that one should so desire it?” Then always, somehow, some way, silently but clearly, I am given to understand that whiteness is the ownership of the earth forever and ever, Amen! -W.E.B. Du Bois

Part of why I will always side-eye white people who say they are doing "everything they can" and "not me." Because we have a history that shows when shit gets rough, ya'll will be the first ones doing some of the dirtiest shit to us.

The error of "validating bad faith arguments" out of politeness plays a part here. No you're not "just asking questions". No your "opinion is just as valid" as fact. No you're not just "protecting women in sports" or "concerned about CRIME". These are all flimsy defenses for the indefensible.

Many pundit arguments amount to 'you racial minorities simply have to deal with the fact that a lot of white people are racist. Suck it up and shut up.'

Just a friendly reminder that we have seen people be asked to condemn Ham*s more than white supremacy and whiteness. Gonna say this again, don't tell me you're doing enough when that is still the trend. Ya'll know who you are.

All politics are identity politics. If you don't think your identity influences your politics, you identify with the majority...which is an identity. "Yeah i'm a man but that's not what shapes my politics" is either a lie or a misunderstanding of what "shapes my politics" means.

Their entire existence as white is built out of always observing and surveillance of us. We exist, in their minds, as their negative comparison point. Whiteness does not work at all without their idea of Blackness and the resulting anti-Blackness.

Because if Black people across the diaspora did a third of what 🇮🇱 has done in the name of sovereignty we'd be wiped off the map. Wouldn't be no country we'd be safe in. Wouldn't be no discussions at the UN. Wouldn't be no sympathy.

Notice how for white people the onus is ALWAYS on the oppressed. Not even a NOTION that someone like Ezra Klein needs to not be an insufferable POS cowtailing like a coward to racists and bigots. NOPE. Just “good luck getting human rights if you’re not nice to Nazi sympathizers.” STFU

Seeing it in my generation as a millennial. White people saying it wasn't that bad when we were young, and I am sitting here dumbfounded as I heard white people drop the n-word on playgrounds then. Watching them say and engage in so much discriminatory ish. Fuck ya'll mean it was better then also.

I've never fully been able to reconcile the furious hatreds of racism, the hostile social forces that exert themselves against us. And that our struggles against those forces were met with such apathy and contempt at the end of the day. As a child it was devastating. Now, intolerable.

Remember that Palestinians are asking us explicitly, in no uncertain terms, for something VERY specific. Read Fidaa's words. Help her replace all her supplies. This is SO degrading. We have no clue what being in a tent in Gaza is like—let alone homeless, with NO possessions.

Epistemic exploitation. They demand education or "proof" just so they can ignore what they've been told. It reinforces ontic burnout, which is just racist at its core imo. They need to just leave us alone.

It never ceases to amaze me how white folks who didn’t know Black people felt pain until George Floyd died think they know how racism works better than Black people. Please find less exhausting ways to channel your discomfort with what I’m saying, because I’m not going to argue with you.

The reason white people don't like us calling them white people and always hear an "all" in front of it is because it is blasphemous for us to name their god. Because whiteness is a religion (not just a religion though) and its god is white people (the collective)

We often say 'Racism is expensive' but it is the most accurate diagnosis of USA's troubled history IDK if we comprehend how expensive, so here is a 20yr sample. At the time US GDP was 16 trillion But it's never been more costly per day than now OP is right that there seems to be no cost too high

This is in response to some tiktok video I saw, of a white woman explaining "the myth of meritocracy." The easiest takedown of meritocracy, in my opinion, is: who gets to decide what is meritorious? Cos then meritocracy becomes a nepotism. Nepotism thrives under capitalism and white supremacy.

i think too many comfortable white people believe the allies that "get us out of this" are fellow center-ish white people who are just more overtly racist/etc, because they perceive them as part of a "powerful group." they don't see that the racism *is* the power, and it's never fighting itself.

The reason white people think Black people are “playing victim” in situations of oppression is because that’s what they do in situations of relative inconvenience. January 6 was a temper tantrum. Burning Black Wall Street was a temper tantrum. You’ll destroy nations before you’ll face yourself.

I used to wonder how people were so ready to accept the Christianity of human traffickers as an expression of righteousness & Good News. Then I saw people fawning over “the gospel” being presented at a WWE produced White Citizens Council rally, and it made more sense.
