In 1961 JFK nominated an Alabama segregationist to a federal post and there was some opposition to it. Several southern newspapers ran this short piece suggesting that it's now come to the point that the only way to hold public office nowadays is to "apologize for being a white man."

In the summer of 1950 most US newspapers ran an AP story about how race had become the main issue in the upcoming Georgia governor's race. Segregationist Herman Tallmadge, governor from '47 to '55 and then a Senator until 1981 made a name for himself by refusing to "apologize for being a white man."

1972. Following a screening of a film depicting violent protests on American streets led by Black people, a "pro-American" Klan leader in a business suit says he will "never apologize for being a white man."

Somehow, Trump has "attorney-client privileges" located in the Epstein files.
