At this midpoint in my life, I think I would actually get quite engrossed in being a science-based thinktanker, working on analyses, simulations, and forecasts with the intent to make life more livable for the 99.9% who aren't trying to ruin the world for everyone else.

Seems to me that if tax authorities find hidden money that very wealthy people and corporations have said they don’t have, that amounts to forswearing it, and it should simply be taken in its entirety for the public purse.

The problems with US government spending priorities are vast and extremely depressing/enraging much of the time. I desperately wish much more was spent on improving people's lives directly, and much less on war. Science spending just isn't really part of that particular equation.
