Hegseth's immoral religious fanaticism makes the ayatollahs look like atheists

The president of the United States increases worldwide respect for America’s calm maturity by telling Iran to “Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards.” This is a real Trump social media post. Our country is a disgrace.

After Trump's unhinged post saying "Open the Fuckin' Strait" and mocking Iran with "Praise be to Allah," I repeat what I've said for many months in my Stop the Presses newsletter: The media betray their duty by not loudly declaring that the president of the United States is out of his mind.

Consider the opportunity costs of the war in Iran. The missiles might have been sent to Ukraine, to end that war. The money might have bought healthcare for Americans. The attention of Europe and Asia might have been focused on countering Russia and China, not re-opening the Strait of Hormuz

I'll state this plainly. It will be misread anyway, but that's your problem. Trump is president until he's not, and he retains all the power of that. He can and will do a lot of damage. But it is over for him as a political operator. It's been going that way, but the speech marks the end.
