A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Thanks to some incredible Twin Cities and Chicago folks, we have a whistle party on Saturday! Come out if you live in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. We’ll be folding zines and putting them together with whistles that have been donated for free speech and community safety. Take some to distribute!

There's a book I read years ago called Milk, Sulphate, and Alby Starvation. In it, Big Milk would go after folks knocking milk products, including for lactose intolerance reasons. Up to assassins. Anyway, there have been too many news stories in recent years that have made me think about this book

During difficult times it's important to take a break & recharge your batteries If that looks like dancing, enjoying art, or learning something new in good company, I rounded up some events at TCG that might fit the bill And if you're staying home for safety, plenty of them are virtual too

Everytime I see one of those videos that's like "music taste is so important, just imagine [friend/partner/etc] not knowing...." I just want to shake them and say imagine getting to introduce someone to it, sharing your joy, & being the catalyst that creates a new fan, ya ding dong

Whenever danger toys came up in conversation, I'd mention this ball with a ring around it that you'd stand on & jump around No one ever knew what I was talking about, so I thought it was a fever dream or diy redneck contraption Turns out it's real, called a Pogo Bal & this is the exact one we had

One nice thing about having a brain that's almost always playing music, is that sometimes the brain radio knows exactly what album to pull out from the deep childhood archives to help counteract a terribly grumpy day

It's time for the annual-ish fight against the urge to start a new Skyrim game & dissociate for several months Happens every time too many grumpy-making sitches collide with too much overtime Last time I lost this fight, I got the game banned at my grandparents' house lol

I'm pretty good at being chill about whatever bs the day has in store, BUT... Nothing gets me to knock out a physical to do task that I've been procrastinating on quite like whatever random bs situation inexplicably crosses the undefinable threshold to viscerally enraged

I'm not saying the snowflakes are my fault, but I did finally decide to clean + put away my AC units* today & I saw the first flakes as I was washing the filters this AM *they're floor units that weren't in the windows, just taking up room space & mocking me more the further we got from warm temps

Flashback to high school shenanigans At the mall we would sometimes play "get in the gap" where you had to enter the gap store, casually touch the back wall, & get back out without being greeted by an employee It had a low success rate We do not need to go back to that level of interaction
