The best things yesterday were the surprising bits of colour among the drab grey, brown and green. These were issued by the Flammulina velutipes, or velvet shanks, of which there were quite a few, young, mature and elderly. The latter allowed me a peek under her skirts 😳 #fungifriends

It was icy cold on my wanderings yesterday. Unsurprisingly, not many fungi on view. And yet, there were soms surprises after all. First, to show how cold it was: an icy leaf (zoom in if you can) and some ice-capped Trametes or Phlebia. #fungifriends
