Dang, I’m playing Gloomwood right now and realizing this past year has been good for fans of 90’s first person PC games. This is a good stealth/immersive sim, Abiotic Factor was an excellent multiplayer Half-Life 1 fever dream, and Cultic Ch.2 is the new 🐐 action FPS/Boomer Shooter.

It really shouldn’t be a surprise that the best lit game I’ve ever played holds up in B&W. It’s the only the time I’ve ever played a game and thought damn, that’s good lighting while I played, but it’s also so colorful I didn’t expect it to work this well.

I’ve watched so many videos about Earthborne Rangers and I still don’t know how to play this game. I think the pressure to explain rules to other people is the only true motivation to learn boardgame rules.

I love this game because its puzzle mechanics is like playing Portal except every 6-8 levels they introduce a different concept that are as novel as portals. It hurts my brain to play too long but it’s fun for 30-60 minutes at a time and more forgiving than Stephen’s Sausage Roll.
