So far 2025 has been a chaotic and stressful year for obvious reasons, but books are keeping me going. I just read two nonfiction books that made me think of the boundless possibilities of the genre: I AM, I AM, I AM by Maggie O’Farrell and THE UNDOCUMENTED AMERICANS by Karla Cornejo Villavicencio.

What are you reading to kick off 2025? I read BLUE LIGHT HOURS by Bruna Dantas Lobato, a novel as deceptively quiet as the snow-covered Vermont campus where it's mostly set. It's a moving portrayal of a close-knit relationship between a mother & daughter as they keep in touch over Skype.
