I've always struggled to fit in. I thought teaching might be it, or at least it for long enough for fitting in not to matter anymore. However, that appears not to be the case. Might be back to the drawing board. I think I need a job that pays me to stay away from everyone. And maybe read books.

If education is not built from the bottom up, with capacity at its core, and context as its guide, it will fail. It's why it's failing now. The only thing keeping education afloat is the above-and-beyond sacrifices of the staff at all levels.

I have nothing but fearful dread every time I hear that a government is doing something about education. It never feels like frontline staff are ever involved or consulted. And in Education, context is everything.

I took the time to send an email to a mentor thanking him for his impact on me & he wrote back to say how much it meant to him. I highly recommend doing this, especially for your teachers. we keep them in little folders & reread them when we feel like we can’t go on.

The TES has reported about complaints about the lack of diversity in the new curriculum design team. Are there any actual frontline teachers, Primary or EYFS in there? If not,it's going to go wrong.

Definitely time for an English Primary specialist focus in education. Researchers, action-researchers, inspectors ... the lot. Primary is a unique learning environment, not a Secondary hand-me-down. We also need one, compulsory national curriculum that does not focus on hinterland knowledge.

I'm not sure if we have been sold an absolute whopper in education in England, or whether this is just growing pains. But whenever I look at any of the major themes in Education, I can't help but wonder if we are asking the right questions, or just following the crowd.

This hits. We rarely get time to sit with research long enough for it to refine our thinking. It becomes ‘read fast, apply, evidence, move on’ - compliance, not scholarship. Protecting proper collegial space for reading, reflection and informed judgement feels precious - and worth exploring.

The UK needs a proper system that acknowledges and engages non-voters. No one should have to vote for a person just because they are the least worst choice. No votes should have a voice and an impact.

Why does being out of tthe classroom have to be such a hassle. Never known anything like it in any other industry.

For a successful education culture and structure in England, it needs to be designed from birth up, and it needs to be successful for the least academic child in England. Otherwise, it's designed to fail.

The current focus and obsession on pedagogy in teaching, including the behaviour drive, allows educators to ignore amd not acknowledge more fundamental impacts and restrictions on the learning progress of children. Why? Because it's easier to blame teachers.
