I am weirdly conflicted on the oracy recommendations. In principle, I am very much in favour of improving oracy. On the other hand, I really worry about effective implementation.

So the answer is that the Rainforest one is the last part of phonics and Level 5 and the Pirate one is Level 8. However, any teacher of reading would know that a child will not find the Level 5 book easier.

Fire up your computer and click on the link to read a superb article by the Ensers on what makes a great school and how it can be lost. (It's not easy to read on a phone). Clarity of purpose and deliberate action to ensure that you are living up to it are the keys in their view.

Late to reading this but this is interesting because it isn’t just correlation (like lots of previous studies). They tracked impact over time.
