Last night at PF Chang's, this was in my fortune cookie. I'm definitely not going to get "great wealth" by doing it, but I think I am finally going to write and post something I've always wanted to. Because if Chuck Tingle and a fortune cookie can believe in me, maybe I can believe in me too.

A while back a coworker gave me a gift card to PF Chang's, so tonight I decided to go out and have dinner there. I went in pretty cynical about it and not expecting much from the food, but...uh...it was really good!

I'm halfway through the audiobook of "Devastation of Baal" by @guyhaley.bsky.social. Of the many 40k books in my collection, it's one of the 40k-iest, in terms of fun weirdness. Gareth Armstrong suits it well, though he doesn't have the variety of voices for different characters that John Banks has.

I've decided to not sign up for the new Black Library app. I'll just switch to buying my 40k/30k eBooks on Kobo. Not that it will make a difference to GW (because I want to keep supporting my favorite Black Library authors so I'll keep buying novels) but I am not happy with this nonsense of theirs.

Apparently most 40k fans don't like John Banks as an audiobook narrator. I have no idea why not, since I'm now on my third audiobook with him doing the narration, and loving the way he does the main prose and the character voices. Am I just the weird one here?

I'm about 8 chapters into the audiobook of "Vaults of Terra: The Carrion Throne" by Chris Wraight. The full-cast-with-music-and-SFX audiodramas I listened to spoiled me a bit, but John Banks, the narrator, does such a phenomenal job giving each character a unique voice that I'm really enjoying this.

"'The Witcher' meets 'Howl's Moving Castle'" is certainly a pitch. I'm in.

I can understand nostalgic movies/games/books set in the 80s. I don't LIKE it, but I can sort of get it. I was extremely distressed when nostalgic stuff started getting set in the 90s. There's no way I could be that old. Yesterday I ran across a nostalgic RPG set in *2004*, and just kill me now.

Today I was backing some stuff up and on my backup drive I found a bunch of saved posts and emails from a Gothic Lolita fashion and lifestyle forum/board I used to frequent twenty years ago. It made me sad, because until it blew up in drama, that was probably the last bunch of real friends I had.

You know, I've come to terms with being an awkward dork in RL. But why do I have to be this way on social media, too?

Finally finished this (it's been a busy week). And yeah, it was good. It was a teensy bit rushed feeling at the end, and doesn't tell a complete story (it leads straight into the next book after the Climactic Dramatic Twist Changes Everything), but I loved the characters and the worldbuilding.

Okay, I am SERIOUSLY tempted to pick up this one, soley because it features a weresquirrel. It feels almost refreshing after the umpteenth "dominant and possessive (and probably really, really unconcerned with sexual boundaries) Alpha Werewolf" book.

Why am I a complete sucker for books with cheesy puns in the title?
