Look at these behemoths! Usually when a modern recipe says 3 loaves, it only makes 2 in my bread pans, as newer ones are tinier. I like a loaf as large in diameter as sandwich bread. Forgetting this, I used a recipe from my old Joy of Cooking, circa 1980.

Someone quoted what they said was an Irish proverb (that, I cannot confirm). But I think it is appropriate in light of recent events. "There is no man so small as a coward, at a hero's wake".

Some of the impersonality in the world is on us. It behooves us to say hello to the grocery worker, the delivery person, the neighbour; whomever we encounter in our day. There is joy to be found in these simple kindnesses. And the dogs! Let's not forget to say hello to dogs.

Shocked by the tragic attack at Bondi Beach. I send my heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. Europe stands with Australia and Jewish communities everywhere. We are united against violence, antisemitism and hatred.

If you have a bank account in your country or use U.S. technology, as most of us do, this will 100% affect you and your loved ones now and well into the foreseeable future. And this is why #Digitalsovereignty should be a goal for every democratic government if they are serious about freedom.
