Squircle Jail is the worst design-related thing Apple has ever done to Mac developers, and probably the worst icon-related thing it has ever done, period. Incredibly developer-hostile.

We're at 4844 responses for this year's State of CSS survey, so I just need 157 more participants to be able to say the survey got "over 5000" responses! I'm closing the survey tomorrow so this is your last chance to learn about all the latest CSS features!

This old Japanese house was completely destroyed by the 2011 tsunami, but it was rebuilt last year using as many of the washed-away original materials as could be recovered. I was responsible for applying the urushi finish to the interior sliding doors known as obi-do.

I know it's a hard problem but I'd really like
@atproto.com
to support some kind of revisioning so that Bluesky would allow editing.

invites a friend to the Crossmate TestFlight and, as his very first puzzle, the friend chooses a random puzzle from 2021 that just so happens to have numbers in the answers (revealing Crossmate cannot handle puzzles with numbers at all).

Crossmate uses a Cloudflare Worker to serve OpenGraph metadata for link unfurls. Part of this involves dynamically generating a preview of the crossword that a user is sharing with the Crossmate icon composited in the bottom right. Yes, this is a silly use of my time.

I've pushed an update to my famous blog post 📈 "Emoji history: the missing years"

Adding 1986's Sanyo SWP-M21, plus some history of the word…including 絵文字 (emoji) used as table column header in the manual of 1988's Toshiba Rupo JW95F word processor.
