I think blurring and dimming are not sufficient substitutes for real-world eye focus. Maybe that’s why the whole concept consistently struggles in 2D.

Now that macOS Tahoe lets you choose an SF Symbol to stamp on the front of a folder— how is that they didn’t take this opportunity for the Finder sidebar to show that SF Symbol if you pin that folder?? (???) It seems pretty obvious to me.

I’m not crazy, right? Currently if you drag a .icon file made with Icon Composer onto a folder or app to change the icon, it just shows the ICON FILETYPE instead of the actual icon artwork? Brilliant work, guys.

Hm— Dropbox “unexpectedly quits” on macOS Tahoe. I haven’t seen anyone talk about it crashing on launch.

I would argue—though I might not entertain it further than this post—that Liquid Glass is not that big of a design shift as iOS 7 was.
