This is a terrific thread. One of the scariest things about being a supervisor is that you stake your license and reputation on the work of others, trusting in your ability to hire and train. If I did everything myself, I wouldn't need my team. But no one would pay me to do everything myself.

I'm going to go ahead and say this as approval of that practice. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should be expected to double-check the accuracy of a partner-level attorney's description of a case or its holding. An associate? Sure because you're worried that they aren't experienced enough

It has come to my attention that someone I’ve filed a suit against has take — taking it from his followers — to calling me “Marilyn TRANSon.” Rank bigotry isn’t a good look, especially in a case with a gender discrimination-type claim. But I’ll admit the bad pun got a chuckle.

If a judge is jumping in on direct to draw out this kind of specific fact, it certainly bodes a kind of way. (Reason being, the jumping in means he has, in his mind, a need to clarify that fact on the record, and that fact is likely relevant only leaning a particular direction)
