Let's be clear: The Trump administration is punishing children, families, and hardworking child care providers because of a racist and fraudulent conspiracy theory posted by a bigoted YouTube account. This is not how a democracy should run.

One of the talking points I keep seeing from Democrats is that part of the deal is that it will "ensure federal workers receive back pay" but that's the existing law! That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard. We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions. We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Last night, we went to the USDA building to send a big message to Trump: Half isn't good enough—FULLY fund SNAP. Trump has the power to stop this but chooses politics over people. One in eight families rely on SNAP, and half funding means hunger. Don't starve families so you can play politics.

Hey USDA and Pres. Trump: women and families are tired of your political games. Half the funding for SNAP means many families will still be going hungry. It means moms will still skip meals so their children have something to eat. Enough.
