Arrived last night in a smallish town called Soc Trang In VN, it's common for poor and/or disabled people to be seen pushing lottery tickets. 10k (38 cents US) for a shot at billions (of dong) Normally I give the cash and hand back the ticket. Here I did that and they handed me back my money. Heh.

I really hope that everyone here can find good IRL connections. I like it here on The Bootleg Butterfly and it does give some lovely insight into people's lives, but I can also tell there is a lonely streak. I'm not immune to it either, but there remember ppl can be willing to look out for ya.

Something that never fails to fascinate are the graves often you see out by farm fields. There's a certain romance quality to being buried on your property with family tend to it easily. I'm sure it's mostly a financial thing (don't pay money for a place, pay money for my home!) but charming.
