The social media bill being proposed to protect children will require all of us to give our picture IDs to Meta, Google, Wikipedia, Bluesky, you name it. As if our data wasn't already at risk. Plus, it will put LGBTQ youth at risk. This isn't a solution. Tell your legislator to say no.

These bills and movements have nothing to do with actually protecting the youth and everything to do with disempowering the communications of minorities and helping young adults form more informed identities separated from hegemonic power structures.
