Things I’ve done today instead of scrolling: • Read and commented on blogs • Ate breakfast without my phone (!) • Inventoried and organized seeds • Planted beans, beets, and bunching onions in the garden • Watched the clouds roll by

How did we go from paper straws to data centers?

How about, instead of fireworks to celebrate Independence Day, we chill with friends and/or family? Read? Cuddle fur babies? Play Animal Crossing? Anything that doesn’t involve exploding? Cool? Cool 😎

I may not have scientific evidence to support this, but I firmly believe that walking into your local independent bookstore improves mental well-being by at least 52%.

Haven’t figured out where the smoke is coming from yet (fires in New Mexico or elsewhere) but it’s settled in our little valley and sent me inside from the garden with a budding headache. I loathe Fire Season ☹️

I saw somewhere recently that, if you devote 18 minutes a day to something, at the end of the year you’ll have devoted 100 hours to that thing. Yes, yes… it seems like common sense, but when looking at the numbers, sometimes it all hits different, you know? - A few June reflections on the blog 💛

I've read 40/77 Top Ten Tuesday posts so far today and have added another 18 soon-to-be-released books to my TBR. I knew this would happen but damn. Book bloggers for the win! But I may need another bookshelf... don't tell my wife ;-)

Just took a little field trip down to the closest dam on the Pecos River. Our continued drought here in New Mexico is devastating but walking across the dry river bed with my daughter was downright heartbreaking.
