This morning in Minneapolis, an ICE vehicle got stuck on an icy hill in a residential neighborhood. Agents had to push the vehicles out, some almost slipping in the ice themselves.

I teach bystander intervention for a living and have taught de-escalation to law enforcement. Trust me when I say that bottle girls, gas station clerks, strippers, front desk employees at hotels and airports, baristas, etc. have better de-escalation skills than any cop I've ever seen.

MOST of yesterday’s task involved identifying and inventorying assorted china and crystal. In which I confirmed that I can pattern match better than Google Lens can. Every single time it confidently told me that the piece I showed it was the wrong pattern. But its wrong answers gave me clues.

This. I've done the research so many times, and the facts are that: 1) There's no moving with kids. Too many hurdles. 2) Few jobs are secure enough to move without fear of being laid off. 3) Language is a huge barrier. 4) The only expats I know are 2nd-generation immigrants or spouses of citizens.
