The grumble below brought to you by my having to decline an invitation to a one-shot in a promising Weird West setting. As I recover, I plan to, if not *gorge* myself on collaborative storytelling opportunities, at least tuck in heartily.

I continue to be too sick to play ttrpgs and I’m mad about it. Part of this is illness making it too hard to go out anywhere (and stay for hours). Part of it is that social interactions & creative cognitive work (again, sustained for hours) both demand energy stores I currently lack. *grumble*

Oh wow. I’m going to need this. And I anticipate being very glad to have it.

In the current political (& social) environment, I’m not surprised at the much higher prevalence of LGBT adults consulting tarot cards. Also not surprising: The news we’re much more likely than other demographics that employ divinatory practices to actually be looking for insights & guidance.

Rook’s been recommended for pulmonary rehab but we don’t yet know when that will start—keeping them housed and stable is how we can help my friend at least *metaphorically* breathe easier for now.

…I managed a few days of kinda-sorta functioning after leaving my job, and then all the exhaustion I’d been bracing against rolled over me in a monster wave. I have to take a nap after I have a shower. If I edit a few pages of a paper, I have to lie down for TWO HOURS.

All things must end. Bad times. The coldest winters. The reign of petty tyrants in their tacky gold palaces. And even your corporeal form, which will soon shatter to reveal ten ravens, who will fly off into the old forest, free at last.

I’m trying to stick w/ BG3 until I finish it, but this post REALLY made me miss DA:I and (obviously) Dorian.

Just finished the last last book of Wesley Chu’s War Arts Saga and did not expect the bittersweet hit I took in the epilogue. The Art of Legend wraps a long, complex story up to my general satisfaction—especially considering my main complaint is wanting more time with some of the characters.

Not a fan of "reminder" posts, but today maybe relevant to recall that the first lie of fascism is inevitability.

I was playing BG3 to take a break from vacuuming, but Astra insisted I abandon my fight in the druid caves to go sit outdoors and watch the sunset with her, instead. —She’s a very good dog.

My regular PT routine & consistent yoga practice really suffered while my recently quit 40-hr. was driving me into the ground w/ exhaustion. It has been a week since my last day there, and I’m only just feeling up to more than a few stretches. Still, that’s an improvement.

It is not even noon and I am once again wrestling with the problem of human evil*. —I need to remember to leave spiritual and philosophical pursuits until after I’ve had a coffee.
