A reminder to my fellow chronic pain sufferers: Pain is exhausting. Every single act takes more energy than it does for someone without pain. It can be even more exhausting having to face the reality that the pain isn’t going to go away. So it’s all about minimizing it and learning to manage.

Anyone who deals with chronic lower back pain have suggestions for items that help sit or sleep at all comfortably? Or at least without aggravating the pain? The PT exercises I should be doing are currently not possible due to other health issues, and my back pain has returned with a vengeance.

I keep feeling like my health is getting worse, my pain is increasing, etc. I think so much of it is that the current state of *everything* adds so much stress which really increases chronic illness and disability symptoms. Which in turn makes it harder to actually engage in everything. #NEISVoid

My #SSDI phone interview is tomorrow morning. Super nervous, but also in extra pain because I did so much writing to have clear lists of things to discuss. Tonight I still need to rewrite some of it into an abridged list I can check off. Ow.

More than once something has gone wrong with the motorized shopping cart so I’m stuck. Once I was mostly done, once I was just starting. And both times people stopped and helped me out, one time getting me a regular cart and one time getting me an employee to bring me a new motorized one.

SSDI phone interview scheduled for about three weeks from now at way too early for me o clock. Very thankful to my patient advocate, there’s so many steps I wouldn’t know about without her

I really can’t wait til my OT is more complete, I currently can’t play any fast paced games as my fingers are too stiff. I want to get back to Hades 2 so badly, haven’t been able to play since mid December.

SSDI stuff: So my patient advocate wanted me to talk to my doctors and then get back to her, but my doctors all basically went “well just send the paperwork when they ask for it.” I just moved, and have had a lot less appointments here. Hopefully everything from MA transferred properly… #SSDI

btw for those who don't know why Americans with chronic illness got like 75% more stressed on Jan 1st, it is not just because all the insurance rates blew up. On 1/1, deductibles reset. which means you have to spend some amount of money (up to $10k sometimes) before your insurance COVERS ANYTHING

It’s sometimes a little disheartening that advocating for the end of using Pepe was one of my first big advocacy issues when I started streaming. Five years later, we’re having the same discussion. But then I remember that SO many more voices have joined mine, and way more spaces have banned it.

Pepe has been the 1st thing used against me often along w very antisemitic messages, even when whatever brought me to the bigots attention had nothing to do with my Judaism. If you’re clinging to Pepe, please ask yourself why your response to multiple people saying “this hurts me” is to refuse.

I can’t put into words how much it means to me to know I’m still making an impact and able to help make spaces safer while still on hiatus for health reasons. Thank you to everyone using my lists, and please feel free to share them with anyone who could use them.

So glad to see this going around again. If you don’t know, Pepe became a white supremacy and antisemitic dog whistle a long time ago. There is no reclaiming it as it is absolutely still used for hate. Every person who bans them makes online spaces safer. Plus, there’s so many cuter frog emotes!

Quick status note: started OT for my wrists. Being slightly hypermobile seems to have really fucked up a bunch of my body over longer than I realized, and I’m back to a place my hands can’t handle quick gaming reactions and unpacking is harder. But bit by bit working on it all.
