Without fail, on any conversation about urbanism, a ruralist will pipe in with how none of that is possible out in the country. I feel we need to help these individuals by defining “urbanism” and “rural” so that maybe, just maybe, they will finally understand the difference.

Having learned firsthand that people on social media do not read, they skim, I find example after example now of people having greatly reduced reading comprehension capabilities. When I write, I choose all words carefully. Skimming too often gives the reader the wrong idea. Reading does not.

Finally been re-inspired to get back to editing a book I started almost literally 2 decades ago now. I've written much of it, though it's still lacking some material to tie multiple chapters together. I tend to write when inspired and figure out how to tie it all together later.

More too polite drivers! And again on W Bellfort. They slowed and waved me across (I was halfway through the crossing). Driver coming crossing opposite direction took advantage of them almost stopping. But, I waved them on, shaking my head "no", and they almost ran into the crossing car 🙄

Our system relies on children to look both ways because adults driving don't. Great strategy.

I had exactly the same thought as I saw this car in Seattle the other day: the constant refrain of “get your toys out of the street” bicyclists face every day. It lifted even further as the light changed and they drove on. I was hoping for a small rock to take out the rear differential.
