results: Together with Patricia Prabutzki &
@fedorovalab.bsky.social
we looked at lipidome remodeling along development of fibro-calcific aortic valve disease. Turns out, it is quite different in male & female patients!

Sex-specific lipidomic signatures in aortic valve disease reflect differential fibro-calcific progression - Nature Communications
Fibro-calcific aortic valve disease is closely interlinked with dyslipidemia. Here, the authors used quantitative lipidomics to profile the metabolic trajectories in human aortic valves, and found tha...

Recommendations for robust and reproducible research on ferroptosis
Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology, Published online: 09 April 2025; doi:10.1038/s41580-025-00843-2Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic type of cell death that is induced by uncontrolled iron-dependent phospholipid peroxidation and has important roles in disease. This Expert Recommendation article summarizes ferroptosis regulation and mechanisms and provides recommendations to increase the reproducibility and robustness of ferroptosis research.

🚨New preprint: There's this overlooked phospholipid with 3 acyl tails called NAPE that is made during ischemia. We identified its interactome & found it regulates lactate flux, suggesting metabolic functions in response to hypoxia. Congrats to Dylan Chiu!
