Here it is, my annual reminder: don't spray spring dandelions with roundup. One flower can be visited by 100+ bees in a day, and your chemicals will kill all of them. 🌻

This isn’t theoretical. Countries are already paying for prevention: Costa Rica → pays to keep forests standing China → pays farmers to restore land US → pays to retire fragile farmland Same logic works in health too. Pay upstream → save downstream. #PreventionIsCure

If we’re serious about prevention: • Pay for outcomes, not activity • Shift subsidies (health + agriculture) • Price ecosystem services • Fund cities to reduce risk, not just treat it The future isn’t more hospitals. It’s fewer people needing them. #PreventionIsCure

Air pollution, food systems, urban design. Most “healthcare” decisions are made outside healthcare. Same with nature: Forests, water, land use. We’re trying to fix downstream crises without funding upstream prevention. That’s the real inefficiency. #PreventionIsCure

That's why we need to tell everyone about the alternatives - partner planting; organic sprays; nematodes, encouraging natural predators; keeping the soil healthy, that creates disease resistant plants etc....

We normalized poisoning our own living spaces—and call it maintenance. These chemicals don’t stay in gardens. They move into air, water, and our bodies. Higher heat + urban exposure = amplified risk. There are smarter options—but they’re underused.
