There still seems to be a lot of confusion about significance testing in psych. No, p-values *don’t* become useless at large N. This flawed point also used to be framed as "too much power". But power isn't the problem – it's 1) unbalanced error rates and 2) the (lack of a) SESOI. 1/ >

It's weird - but now in Oslo, there's so many EVs that you notice the noise and the smell from individual ICE cars, and you realise how much we've been normalising it for ever. You can smell them half a street away. And inside parking lots are just *quiet*.

Last week, I crafted my first-ever gauge chart 🏎️ to showcase partial radial plots for our
#ggplot2
[un]charted lesson on "coordinate systems" Thanks to coord_radial(), partial circles like those are super easy now — and of course I couldn’t resist making a polished and animated version 💅📽️

Just a reminder that you don't have to be a statistician, or a programmer, or an analyst, or a data engineer, or a viz designer to benefit from
#rstats
. It's also amazing just for basic data management tasks. Especially thanks to the

Impactful quote from Kahneman in NYT Gino vs Bloggers article. In "Thinking, Fast and Slow" (2011) he wrote: "When I describe priming studies to audiences, the reaction is often disbelief. [...] The idea you should focus on, however, is that disbelief is not an option." Now it's the default.
