The problem with social media is that you’re only allowed to hold opinions in batches. If you believe X and Y, you must also believe Z, which is atmospherically similar to X and Y and believed by all the same people. If you don’t do this, everyone hates you. It makes actual thinking impossible.

The most consistent error I see from Claude is pushing ahead instead of stepping back when things are getting too gritty. I just watched it implement a CAR parser in JavaScript instead of using JetStream. A human would get annoyed, but I guess all tasks are equally easy for Claude.

atproto question: do we have a standard lexicon for cross-app notification consent yet? specifically: “this app is allowed to mention me” as a portable, revocable record in a user’s repo. it feels like a useful primitive for interop without spam.

After 17 days, my account is working again. I migrated to my own PDS, but the official relay never picked it up. After a lot of debugging I determined it was a relay bug, with help from people in Discord (thank you!). So for now I'm back on bsky.social.
