I got an inexpensive ultrasonic cutting tool (a bit like an x-acto knife), and it's useful but not exactly how I expected. I think its best use is for small, delicate work which would be damaged by force with a traditional knife.

This morning I saw a post that showed a PC Engine try to boot the PC-FX game "Battle Heat" - it showed up with a graphic screen, a text scroll, and background music, just like many "wrong System Card" screens showed for PC Engine games. So it is possible to make a dual-boot (PC-FX/PC Engine) game !

Holy Shit, it's actually happening. This week's Arcade Archives release is Taito's previously thought to be lost game Benjo de GO! It was previewed in 1997 but the sole PCB was thought to have been destroyed in an earthquake but one has apparently survived!! An absolutely unbelievable situation!!

The "Pro Fighter X" series of SNES copiers has kinda stupid disk handling code: it doesn't filter out FAT entries on floppy disk that should never be displayed, like the Volume name ("CHRIS"), directories, and long filename chunks. This causes errors during display & loading. So I RE'd and fixed it.

I did what the UFO guys never bothered to do: about a week ago, I read up on how Long File Names (LFN) work on FAT12 floppy storage, and programmed in a display routine for LFNs on my Super UFO8 FDD copier. Much more useful now!

I was asked the other day about the PC Engine GT (and TurboExpress) COM cable, and how those two-player handheld games are implemented technically. Probably somebody knows, but I couldn't find any information online about the signalling protocol or the ports which implement it.

Something's wrong with Canada Post tracking. The tracking information is correct, but is two days older than other tracking sources (i.e. Canada Post shows a parcel still in international transit, when foreign tracking shows that it's past customs and at the local sort station).

3D printers are such an amazing tool for making tools. It’s not a complex thing, but I needed a way to support these stacked PCBs in a way that allowed me to work on them both. Took some rough measurements. 15 minutes in Fusion 360. Two hours to print. Problem solved.

Knowing that: -RAM and storage prices are soaring -Apple hadn't increased their prices on these yet, and -Apple was planning a release this week ...I ordered a Macbook to "beat the increase". Instead, while they increased the base price, they also increased storage, making the config LESS expensive.
