Day 29 of 31 days of horror! This was just campy 80s fun. Could have done without the casual bigotry and misogyny, but honestly it was tame for 80s horror. 7/10 would watch again.

Day 28 of 31 days of horror! This was fun, but also, like... there was a lot going on. This plot definitely needed either some trimming or an extra 30 minutes. 6/10.

Day 27 of 31 days of horror! Watched this yesterday but forgot to post. First one was better. This one was decent, but this one lost a lot of what I felt made the first one good, like the "it exists by bureaucratic accident" thing. First was an 8/10, this one is a 6/10.

Day 26 of 31 days of horror! This one has actually been on my watchlist for awhile. I really enjoyed it, but like... in universe question: why the fuck did they design the most comically evil looking ship possible? Every aspect of that ship SCREAMED "I make a portal to hell!" 8/10

Day 25 of 31 days of horror! Idk how I managed to go so long without seeing this one, but I really enjoyed it. The pacing made it feel way longer than an 90 minutes, but simultaneously kept me engaged the whole time. (Also I watched it yesterday but forgot to post. Lol.)

Day 24 of 31 days of horror! I know I saw the first two of this series, but honestly can't remember anything about them 😅 this was still enjoyable though. Nothing amazing, but it's overall enjoyable. I love a good creepy killer lurking in the background of a shot. 6/10 I'll probably watch it again

Day 23 of 31 days of horror! This kinda flopped for me. Felt like they were trying to humanize a horror villain whose character hinges on a complete lack of humanity, despite outward appearances. 3/10

Day 22 of 31 days of horror! This one was fine, it was just really off putting how they couldn't pick between being a found footage film, or something more structured. But goddamn the fucking jumpscares kept working on me 😅 5/10. Can't say I'd go out of my way to recommend it, but it's not bad.

Day 21 of 31 days of horror! This was absurd, campy horror done right. I'm not really a big Stephen King fan, but oh my god this was good gorey fun, and I'll be lowkey having nightmares about this fucking monkey. 9/10. Might even go up once I rewatch it.

Day 20 of 31 days of horror! This one was pretty good. Took a psycho twist near the end, but I think it made for a good explanation for some other shitnin the movie. Honestly I recommend giving this a shot. I'd watch this again 7/10

Day 19 of 31 days of horror! Finally caught up! This movie was fine. Followed the standard "Exorcist" formula of a slow burn with an explosive end. Honestly I don't care too much for this series in general, but this one in particular was aggressively okay. 5/10

Day 13 of 31 days of horror! Despite watching horror movies since I was 5, I've somehow never seen this movie before today. As something that has basically served as the blueprint for every found footage film made since then, this did a great job setting the standard used to judge all others. 8/10

Day 12 of 31 days of horror! What a dud. I've heard this movie is a satire on violence in media, and like... it was just bad. Pacing was weird, sound design was awful, and the 4th wall breaks were just dumb. I think the director did all this on purpose, so congrats to them for making a 1/10

Day 11 of 31 days of horror! Now THIS is how you do a good vampire movie. After the cinematic abortion I watched on day 8, this was a fucking gift from the horror gods. I've got zero notes on this one. Perfect amounts of drama, tension, and gore. 10/10 I'll be watching this one again and again.

Day 10 of 31 days of horror! Okay, so the VHS franchise is pretty hit or miss, which I feel is to be expected of both anthologies and found footage. Every short in this one hit right though. If you like found footage, I fully recommend this one (the last section was my favorite) 8/10

Day 9 of 31 days of horror! Ngl this one fucked me up a little, but it was really good. First half felt more like a psychological thriller, but the second bit turned supernatural and creepy as shit. Trigger warning for child abuse and DON'T watch if you want a happy ending, but I recommend it! 9/10

Day 8 of 31 days of horror... 30 days of night was my favorite horror movie in highschool, so imagine my shock to find out they made a sequel! Until a couple months ago, I had no idea it existed! And boy do I wish it stayed that way. Don't bother watching this. 2/10

Day 7 of 31 days of horror! I watched Peele's other horror films for the first time a few months ago but decided to wait 'til October to watch this one, and it was absolutely worth the wait. It was pretty long for a horror film, but the pacing was perfect to keep me engaged. 9/10 will watch again!
