I think, to David's point, the discussion about media often ignores that there are often (good) reasons why (good) journalists avoid words like "lying" and "illegal." But I also think there's a conversation to be had about whether journalism needs to be clearer/better.

It remains to be seen whether the new PM will retain these Senate reforms. I certainly hope so. I think the reformed Senate is more representative, more diverse, more effective, than the old partisan system ever was. And I hope that Mark Carney and those around him will be brave enough to keep it.
