this is not the first time trad publishing has tried to sell an "across the aisle" romance. I'm going to post my GR reviews of 2 of the most well-known below, and even though both of these reviews are 5 years old, people still routinely find them.

I'm an editor, but: every single scene in your book needs to do the work. Inside Romancelandia, this means every sex scene needs to advance plot, character, conflict, etc., irrespective of heat level. If you can cut the scene and the book's fine without it, you haven't done your job.

Dawdling about your mammogram? My pal had hers on time, discovered cancer, had a mastectomy—the great news is that it hadn't spread. Early discovery can save your life. Internet friend, please make your appointment. Keep your appointment. Knowledge is power.
