This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

I ran out of gas once and these 4 or 5 very strong Black women pulled up and pushed my car to a gas station. They were high fiving, laughing, and genuinely joyous the whole time. I think it made their night as much as mine.

One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.

Just talked to my sister in Minneapolis. Her son-in-law was stopped at a checkpoint today. He then drove to follow his wife home to be sure she made it unharmed. We now live in a country with checkpoints & secret police saying “Show me your papers.” Anyone who supports this is a fascist, full stop.

Just so people outside of MN know - a lot of the US citizens getting “arrested” by ICE never get processed at Whipple. They are roughed up during the arrest and then often dropped off miles from where they were picked up. It means we don’t know the true scale of what ICE is doing based on ICE stats

A teenage boy was walking home in Minneapolis yesterday when four masked men jumped out of a van & questioned him - with no parent or guardian present. He was bundled into the van & taken away. Bystanders heard the boy say: “Can I just go home?” I don’t know how America comes back from all this.
