One of the things I have taken away from Spirit Blade's success, though, is that the price tolerance for ebooks has gone down again. I'm experimenting with dropping the prices of all of my first in series, to see how that goes I've also got the wheels turning on all of my books being in libraries

The downside of any success as an author is this unending cascade of scams. Like Ada says: daily or more. I pity anyone trying to get an author to show up for a book club right now. (The folks cold emailing to sell ad services are in a similar mess I suppose, but 90% of those were scams already)

As usual, @cemurphy.bsky.social accidentally made me go look at numbers. I have written 77,000 words in May (I should get some more in before the end, but I'm handling copyedits so I might not) I'm at 310K for the year. That's two novels and the last 20K words of Spirit Blade, basically.

So, in the chaos of discovering the whole mess with the "simplified GST program" (which appears to offload everything onto the small business in the middle), I found I needed to upgrade my Dropbox for them to take a GST number. I upgraded. They refunded the HST on the previous subscription.

I released a book on Thursday and I've already run out of ways to ask people to buy it, lol.
