It was an absolute privilege to be able to visit the Grade 2 listed Lister Lane Cemetery in Halifax today & attend a very interesting talk by David Glover about some of the Halifax Chartists & Co-op Pioneers interred here. Opened in 1841 it was the first general cemetery in Halifax. /1

The Briggs ones I linked are very cool. Surprisingly thin, with peculiar holes near the bottom. We suspect maybe there were back panels that got scrapped, and that they'd been upright with some kind of underground support running horizontally through the holes (also serving as anti-theft maybe).
