Chepstow Priory Church. Tomb of Henry, 2nd earl of Worcester, and 2nd wife Elizabeth - she was one of Anne Boleyn's principal ladies in waiting and may have informed against her.

On this day 28th December 1461 Sir Thomas Holland, Earl of Kent, died in Rouen. He was the first husband of Joan of Kent. Sir Thomas was buried in the church of the Friars Minor at Rouen, his body later moved at Joan's bequest to the Church of the Greyfriars at Stamford in Lincolnshire.

From the Archives. On 30th December 1461, one year to the day after the fatal Battle of Wakefield, Cecily Neville, Duchess of York, held a 'year's mind' requiem mass in tribute to her husband Richard Duke of York who had died in the battle. It was held in old St Paul's in London.

Remembering Barrett & Elizabeth (née Townsend) Heaton, who died within three days of one another in December 1879. Elizabeth known as Betty, died 28th, aged 78 & Barrett, died 31st, aged 72. Barrett formerly a carpet weaver & latterly a beerhouse keeper. Interred together on 2nd January 1880.

It isn't hard to spot the tomb of a former member of the Duat Club in Ashcourt Necropolis or any other county boneyard. They all display some form of gaudy Egyptomania. You can't help but wonder if rumours of mummification are true, just what grave goods they hold. – #MattAdams
