These three gorgeously coloured panels of 15thC glass are the remains of a much larger window at St Mary's, Temple Guiting. A further nine were sold in the early 19thC and are now part of a window in the Met in New York. The text in the hems of the robes is a lovely detail. #StainedGlassSunday

The Edward Despenser Chantry or Holy Trinity Chapel at Tewkesbury Abbey contains a fine 14thC depiction of the Trinity flanked by enthusiastically censing angels and kneeling donors. How wonderful it must have been when newly painted. #WednesdayWallPaintings

This stunning 15th/16thC aumbry at St John the Baptist, Oxenton has some of the loveliest carving I've seen in a while. The detail in the tiny windows and vaulted bay ceiling is so fine that I'm amazed it's survived in such good condition. I don't covert much but this.... want it! #TraceryTuesday

A lone watchful owl keeps an eye on visitors at St Andrew's, Toddington. Commissioned by Lord Sudeley it was built in 1868 by G.E.Street for around £40,000 (£20 million today) and was the beginning of the families money troubles, notice the unfinished carvings on the arcade beneath. #OwlishMonday

Despite the very uncomfortable looking shoes of Sir John Cassey at St Mary's, Deerhurst the lion at his feet has managed a very serene almost smug smile since c.1400. He's obviously very well behaved because I'd be dreadfully tempted to chew those silly points off! #Caturday

The rather smart perp font at St John the Baptist, Beckford is definitely enhanced by the pretty, later font cover. Added along with other woodwork when the firm Ford Whitcombe and Cogswell restored the church in 1911-12 they look perfect together. #FontsOnFriday

The 12thC font at St Faith, Overbury has carvings of two figures, this one carries a staff in each hand so could possibly be Priest or Bishop but also has a nimbus so might not be.... The carving of the robes is lovely but may have been recut at a later date, possibly in the 17thC. #FontsOnFriday

Sometimes it's the small details that really stand out. This 17th/18thC? heart shaped handle opens the inner door in the porch at St Nicholas, Teddington, Gloucestershire and just shows that the practical can also be beautiful. #IronworkThursday

A 13thC harrowing of hell from the passion cycle at St Michael's, Great Tew. Christ holds his hand out to a small gaggle of kneeling figures in the gaping mouth of Hell and is taking the hand of one, possibly Adam whilst the others hold their arms out desperate to be saved.

A lovely annunciation scene at All Saints, Oakham for #mothersday even if the angel does look rather like he's launching his scroll at Mary! On the left is the coronation of the Virgin and on the right is the expulsion of Adam and Eve, the capitals at Oakham are all rather 'busy'. #SundayStonework

Two churches today for #SteepleSaturday Both built for the local squire William Fortrey by the Wing family of architects. Gaulby with its completely bonkers pinnacles was built by John Wing Snr in 1742 and Kings Norton with its infinitely more serious gothic tower by his son, also John in 1761.

The carvings at St Nicholas, Hatherop were possibly/maybe designed by William Burges in the 1850s, he certainly assisted Henry Clutton during the restoration of the church and this squat characterful bird with his oversized beak and funny ears certainly looks very 'Burges' #Woodensday

A rather lovely corner of St Michael and All Angels, Hallaton. The little octagonal turret in the corner is particularly attractive and unusual but it's obviously the window that should draw your eye today for #TraceryTuesday.

St Andrew's, Wanborough is one of only three English churches to have both a central spire and a western tower. The spire here isn't quite as large as my photo makes it look, more of a junior spire when you see it in person. #SteepleSaturday
