Extensive mortality of the IUCN Red-listed species Korean fir (Abies korean) on Mt. Halla, Jeju Island, South Korea. The cause is unclear but may relate to lower winter snowpacks and early spring temps. Situation seems similar to yellow-cedar (Callitropsis nootkatensis) in the Pacific Northwest.

US/Canada vehicle crossings saw a pronounced drop in year over year volumes of Canadian residents, especially in the same-day segment. In total this February there were about 350k fewer Canadian residents crossing into the US than the year prior (23% drop). Not much change for US resident crossings.
