I’ve not been very good at sharing science from #ICCB2025 but I attended a great session this afternoon on applying genetics to biodiversity conservation. Talks from @hernmoral.bsky.social, @lauradbertola.bsky.social, Christina Hvilsom and Carolyn Hogg (1/5)

We have a 20 yr conservation plan. Great! But what do I do tomorrow? Great talks about making info actionable at #ICCB2025 incl. Melissa Price (Uni Hawaii; slide credit) encouraging us to think dynamic plans that support large scale planning and small scale, daily decisions by local managers.

Conservation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It occurs at the intersection with people. Loving this theme across talks at #ICCB2025, including a wonderful plenary by Assoc. Prof. Binbin Li, highlighting the need for building trust and working with local communities for better conservation outcomes.

How can we support adaptive evolution in our rapidly changing world? I’m thrilled to join 3 other presenters and panelists on Tues 3:15pm M2 #ICCB2025. I’ll share work that’s establishing an experimental network to test alternative seed sourcing strategies for revegetation under climate change.

Are you making an impact (for conservation)? The reflection and challenge put to #ICCB2025 by Qld Chief Scientist Prof. Kerry Wilson in the opening plenary. Looking forward to a week of amazing talks from multiple disciplines and sectors. Bringing together diversity to help biodiversity.
