This should be getting more press, and imo should be tied in with the failures of the shelter model. These aren't just "mental health" programs, they're case management, wraparound, etc. People are going to lose their housing due to having their case managers laid off.

A note to Portland leaders who sweep the homeless while pushing back on Trump's exclusionary policies: don't be hypocritical. Human rights are inalienable in an inclusive, pluralist society. Impoverished, unhoused, immigrant, refugee, trans, queer, BIPOC... all deserve to live w/ dignity here.

Five years ago, @brandyzadrozny.bsky.social and I did a story about rural Oregon's fever dream that Antifa was coming to their town from Portland. Hundreds showed up armed downtown because they heard on Facebook that "Antifa buses" were coming. No buses came so they said Antifa "retreated."

Spending a little time this morning making sure none of the local businesses we had earmarked to use for our wedding are associated with the Portland Metro Chamber. I'll call and cancel with any that are and I'll be sure to tell them why. Great PR guys.
