I have worked with an editor and the best thing I learned is that everyone NEEDS an editor. Even the best of us need someone to (lovingly, constructively) rein them in & tell them no. There is a fine line between a complex vision & incomprehensible mush. It’s hard to know the difference alone.

I've worked with an editor on both books I've published and the short story! Editors are incredible, both of mine have helped me to be more cognizant of some of my bad writing habits!
