#QueerWriters Goals I have a novella to revise. I will devote a minimum of 20 minutes daily to revisions. More is okay and encouraged. Twenty gets me started and fights inertia to keep me there. Best case scenario, I finish everything in 2 weeks and share with betas. To the editor in August.

#QueerPrompts I don't really discuss gender at all in the story. As for sexuality, Jenn is questioning at the beginning. She isn't sure what she wants, if she even wants anyone at all. By the end, she wants Marisol, a confident bisexual who is shown on page to have male and female exes.

#QueerPrompts Independence This is an important concept for Mari, the model in my artist/model romance, even if she doesn't name it explicitly. She's got a vehicle that doesn't work reliably, and with her modeling money she fixes her car and learns to maintain it so she won't be beholden to others.

#QueerWritersChat A4 I have a Fitbit Inspire3, and I use that a lot for sprints and short tasks. In general, I respond well to short sprints to help focus tasks. I can time myself to make sure I start. Often, it's the starting that's hard. Continuing once I'm already going is easy.

#QueerWritersChat A3 Great question! In the current WIP, my FMCs are University students. Neither is particularly exceptional at time management, though they aren't necessarily bad at it, either. My werewolf characters (not this WIP) are generally good at time management. More aware than others.

#QueerPrompts Birthdays? No, I didn't pick birthdays for either of my lead characters for this story. It is so short that I didn't think it was necessary. What I might do is borrow the birthdays of friends whose names are almost (but not quite) identical to the characters and call it good.

#LGBTQWriteAThon Goals I am going to finish the beta read of my friend's MM Vampire Romance. (Historical, Titanic-like setting. Really very exciting.)

#QueerPrompts Father figures? I don't have any real ones in A Work of Art, but I have two who are male mentors. Professor Collins challenges Jenn as an artist, which also helps her figure out her sexuality. Mari learns how to take care of her car from Bill, who gives her an apprenticeship.

#LGBTQWriteAThon line share “Is this a weird excuse to show off your model in clothing? I can just imagine the stupid remarks. ‘Oh, I didn’t recognize you with your clothes on!’” That wasn’t the exact remark Mari got when people found out she worked as a live model, but it was close.

#QueerPrompts Character hobbies I didn't give them any hobbies in the first draft. I can imagine Mari (the model of my artist/model romance) would love dancing, fashion, and gain an appreciation for thrifting. Jenn (the artist of the pair) would probably love cooking and nature walks.

#LGBTQWriteAThon Chapter Titles? Most of the time I don't used them, HOWEVER, I did use them with the most recent WIP (FF artist/model romance). They are fun to read in other people's writing, but again, I don't usually use them.

#QueerPrompts The WIP for this month is a contemporary romance set in the USA, so the anti-discrimination laws are the ones that exist. (Even if they're eroding away.) Discrimination isn't a direct aspect of the story I've told. It's more a story of self-discovery. (So cliche, I know!)
