Carmel is a Strong Town 💪

Critics who don’t live here dismiss Carmel Indiana as a performative suburb for the rich. That view ignores the reality. This city is actively investing in walkability, bikeability, and denser land use, steps most suburbs won’t even attempt. It’s not perfect, but it’s real progress.

A city nearby my own (within biking distance) is proposing a 10% cap on single-family rentals. While they claim to be targeting investors, the ordinance would be a blanket ban on all single-family rentals. This will stop @strongtowns.org incremental development from ever happening in this city.
