Problem is that it is extremely hard to get funding for cross species cognition and comparison of neural circuits across species emphasizing both similarities AND differences. Funding agencies incentivize "model system = human" claims and reviewers often hate on work in different model system.

It seems like psychologists aren't the only ones with problems understanding probability, but also astrophysicists! Either the probability is 2.3% or it isn't as we should have no idea which direction the new data will go towards if probability is properly calibrated!
