An extraordinary 28hrs in ED, with a 96 year old with a compressed spinal cord, in a corridor. In my worst nightmares starting medicine, I wouldn’t have dreamed of this.

The "unprecedented demand" trope is frequently used. It's usually a lie to deflect blame from people who have cut capacity so they don't face the consequences of their actions in the way patients in corridors enduring dangerous "care" do. The "demand" has been predicted for 20 years btw.

I’ve stepped back from being a GP trainer—not because I didn’t love it, but because the role is unsustainable. The costs don’t add up, and practices are forced to cut corners to make it work. Let me break down my calculations.

Fantastic to join discussion on AI scribes for GPs. Watch for demos but some reflections: - tool that can support staff, reduces workload & burden & improve patient experience - robust evaluation still in progress - lots of configurability but v manual Full video:

This is Olive. Olive likes when the cat chases her around the dining room table. She loves vegetables, staring into your eyes, and light reflected on any surface. Olive dislikes the dog across the street, when people ask other people questions, or when the cat sleeps in a spot she wants.

‘A Prescription to Save The NHS’ with Accurx. What a venue, and an amazing panel. It can be done, we really can still save the NHS. We’ve learned so much in GP, we just need the rest of the NHS to follow.
