Another experiment in airbrushing contrast paint. This is Blood Angels red. Which went on suuuuper translucent and and kinda darker than I expected? Not an awful base coat but I think it'll need something brighter to help it pop.

It's amazing what a productivity booster an airbrush can be when it's working properly. An hour more work and I've put a little pass of Yriel Yellow on the Achilles and base coats on a pair of Vindicators and a Proteus. At this rate I'm going to have to build more tanks.

@stahly.bsky.social absolutely delivering the goods as usual. Excellent comparison of the new termies. I like them more in this context. Still going to end up converting them. They're not as tall as I thought they might be, but the change to the shoulder pads really alters the silhouette.

First attempt at spraying contrast paint through my airbrush. Pretty good. Very vibrant and quick to go on, but also extremely transparent so my under painted brown is a bit more obvious than I'd intended. Still lessons learnt.

Anyone have any recommendations for light grey/off white acrylic airbrush primer? I've got a bottle of Vallejo surface primer but it clogs my airbrush after minutes. The bottle is old and probably full of crud, but if I'm buying a new one may as well try something else if there's better options.

So Star Wars Legion. The new minis look fantastic, and the current edition of the rules seem pretty playable from what I can tell. Anyone I know playing it? Kinda tempted to pick it up in the coming year.

Army photo of my Ultramarines Horus Heresy army. Still very WIP, but painted most of this in less than a month to play some games. Some more highlights, transfers and basing and they'll be done.

First game of third edition Heresy down. Did lose but it was a fairly close score. Fantastic opponent who was very patient when I was looking up rules. Think my army has some promise. Definitely had a blast rolling dice and pushing minis around.

Put together some more modern Lord of the Rings figures from GW today. They still scale nicely with the old metal minis I've held on to. Some lovely details. A lot of tiny parts though. Each Rohan guy has a two piece head. Which was a bit time consuming. Especially when I kept dropping them 😂
