#ArtAdventCalendar day 6. I've seen so many birds and animals for the first time this year. Going through the photos I took throughout the summer for this event is helping me remember why I love this town. Winter just sucks.

#ArtAdventCalendar day 2. One of my favourite things this year has been watching the goings-on of a family of beavers throughout the summer. I'd never seen one in real life until this year and they've come to be one of my favourite animals.

#ArtAdventCalendar December 1st. I can't believe we're here already. It's been a strange and immensely tiring year punctuated with small moments of joy and awe. Getting to hang out and make cool stuff like this with the people I love was a particularly special moment of magic

The birdsong along the trail is quieter and less varied now that it's autumn. I haven't seen the beavers out swimming in quite some time either. I miss it all already. It was nice to see this little cluster of baby bullheads swimming near the shore though.

Never thought I'd miss the house centipedes at my old place but this place has pharoah ants so here I am

I went to a cottage on Otter Lake near Parry Sound last weekend and even though I was on the north side of the lake looking south, I still caught a bit of the show

One of the neighbours in the townhouses up the street has been doing some activity that sounds like they're hitting their garage door with a baseball bat every two seconds for hours. They're also blasting a new country playlist at max volume for the whole town to hear and I'm about ready to karen

I got to Adair, checked the wait times for Bluewater bridge and decided that today would be the day I figure out what the ferry is all about

Baby beavers update: the youngling wants to go outside but doesn't want to swim (it kept climbing onto the adult beaver who kept diving and rolling to try to escape)

One thing I didn't grow out of when I let myself go was almost always having more pickles than any other readily snackable foods in my fridge

Mood after a 16 hour day featuring two rather long meetings in scorching Detroit parking lots, a seven mile lineup to get onto Bluewater bridge to come back to Canada where I belong and a lil storm I didn't have my camera on board for (honestly wasn't trying to stop for much of anything anyways)🫠

I shouted "whew!" really loud earlier just walking by myself and then realized that I am at work where there are other people who can hear me
